What is a pattern block?
A pattern block, also called a sloper, is a base template for creating your own garment designs. Use it after adding seam allowances, or alter the neckline, style lines, length and fit to develop a new design. These are not finished sewing patterns. Basic pattern-making and garment-construction knowledge is required.

Choose your size using the body-measurement chart. Make a toile or test garment before cutting your final fabric, especially when working with a new block.
Fit and ease
The block is designed for a fitted silhouette in woven fabrics. It includes approximately 4–6 cm bust ease and 2–4 cm waist ease. Compare your body measurements with the size chart and check the fit in a toile before finalising any alterations.

The bodice and sleeve files are supplied in separate groups, with:
- A4 PDFs for home printing
- US Letter PDFs for home printing
- A0 PDFs for large-format copy-shop printing
- Projector PDFs for home sewing projectors
- Size chart PDF
The projector files are locked for projector use and are not intended for printing. Use the A4, US Letter or A0 files for paper patterns.

Recommended fabrics
Designed for woven, non-stretch fabrics. Suitable options include cotton, linen, poplin, chambray, crepe, chiffon, satin, wool and denim. Select a fabric appropriate for the garment you plan to develop. These blocks are not intended for knit or stretch fabrics.

- Seam allowances are not included. Add your preferred allowances before cutting.
- Sewing and cutting instructions are not included.
- These are pattern blocks/slopers for developing your own designs.
- Basic sewing, pattern-making and garment-construction knowledge is required.
- Open the PDFs on a desktop or laptop computer; Adobe Acrobat Reader is recommended for printing.
- Print at 100% or Actual Size and check the test square before printing the full pattern.
