Culottes Pattern Block Bundle – Basic & Flared
Develop your own wide-leg designs with this culottes pattern block bundle, combining two high-waist styles: Basic Jupe Culottes and Flared Palazzo Culottes. Both blocks are designed for woven fabrics and include all 10 sizes, XS–6XL.
Choose the basic culottes silhouette or the fuller, flared A-line shape. Each block provides a starting point for making fit adjustments and developing your own designs on paper.
This is a digital bundle of two pattern blocks. Seam allowances and step-by-step sewing instructions are not included. No physical patterns or finished garments will be shipped.
This is the printable and projector version. The pattern PDFs are layered for size selection but are not supplied as editable files for Adobe Illustrator.
Which Pattern Blocks Are Included?
1. Basic High-Waist Jupe Culottes
A basic wide-leg culottes block with a high waist and waistband. It combines a skirt-like appearance with separate trouser legs and provides a foundation for developing your own culottes designs.

2. Flared High-Waist Palazzo Culottes
A fuller culottes block with flared, A-line legs, a high waist and waistband. The additional flare creates a more pronounced skirt-like silhouette.

This bundle contains two distinct pattern blocks. Both styles are included in sizes XS–6XL.
What Is a Pattern Block?
A pattern block, also called a sloper, is a base template used to develop and adapt garment designs. These blocks already include their respective basic and flared culottes silhouettes.
You can use either block as drafted after preparing the pattern and adding seam allowances, or adapt the length, width, waistband and proportions on your printed or traced pattern.
Pattern-preparation and garment-construction knowledge is required. This bundle does not provide a step-by-step sewing course or construction tutorial.
What You Receive
For each of the two styles, the bundle includes:
- Layered A4 pattern PDF: for home printing on A4 paper.
- Layered US Letter pattern PDF: for home printing on US Letter paper.
- Layered A0 pattern PDF: for large-format copy shop printing.
- Layered projector PDF: for use with a calibrated sewing projector.
- Size chart: for selecting your size using body measurements.
Each block includes its own front, back and waistband pattern pieces. A4 and US Letter pages require trimming and assembly.
The supplied pattern PDFs are intended for printing and projection, not digital pattern editing. All files are in English.
What Does “Layered PDF” Mean?
Size layers allow you to display your selected size and hide the other size layers in a compatible PDF viewer. This makes it easier to print or project the size you need.
Layered does not mean editable. Selecting size layers does not provide tools to reshape pattern lines, change curves or digitally redesign the pieces. Make design changes on your printed or traced pattern.
Adobe Illustrator is not required to use this printable and projector bundle.
Sizes and Fit
Both blocks include: XS, S, M, L, XL, 2XL, 3XL, 4XL, 5XL and 6XL.
Choose your size using the body measurements in the size chart supplied with the relevant block. Your usual ready-to-wear size may differ.
Check the measurements and fit of each style separately. Make a toile or test garment before cutting your final fabric, especially after making design adjustments.
How to Use Your Files
- Download and save your files to a desktop computer or laptop.
- Choose the Basic Culottes or Flared Palazzo Culottes block.
- Open the appropriate pattern PDF in a viewer that supports PDF layers, such as Adobe Acrobat Reader for desktop.
- Display your chosen size and keep any shared information and alignment layers visible.
- Print the A4, US Letter or A0 file, or use the projector PDF with a calibrated sewing projector.
- Prepare or trace the pattern and make any fit or design adjustments.
- Add seam allowances, check adjoining seams and measurements, and make a test garment.
Some browser and mobile PDF viewers do not support size-layer selection. Use a compatible desktop PDF viewer when selecting layers.
Printing and Projection
Home Printing: A4 or US Letter
- Select the file that matches your paper size.
- Print at 100% / Actual Size. Do not select “Fit to Page”.
- Print and measure the test square before printing the complete pattern.
- Trim and assemble the pages using the alignment marks.
Copy Shop Printing: A0
Request A0 printing at 100% scale. Specify the style and size layers you want printed, and check the scale before using the pattern.
Projector Use
Use the projector PDF for your chosen style with a calibrated sewing projector. Select your size in compatible software and verify the scale before tracing or cutting.
Seam allowances are not included in either block and must be added before cutting fabric.
Suggested Fabrics
Both blocks are designed for lightweight to medium-weight woven fabrics, such as crepe, viscose, linen, cotton, satin, chiffon or georgette.
Soft, draping fabrics create a flowing effect. Fabrics with more body produce a more structured shape. Sheer fabrics may require a lining or separate underlayer.
These blocks are not designed for knitted or stretch fabrics.
Fabric Requirements
Check the fabric requirements for your chosen block, size and fabric width. The basic and flared styles have different shapes and may require different fabric quantities.
Calculate your cutting layout before purchasing or cutting fabric. Recalculate the amount needed if you change the length, width or design, or choose fabric with a directional print.
