Editable Technical Balloon Cargo Pants Pattern Block
Develop your own trouser designs with this professionally drafted editable technical balloon cargo pants pattern block. Designed for woven fabrics, it features a high waist, elasticated waistband, full-length balloon legs, a side pocket, mock fly front and elasticated ankle hems. Sizes XXS–6XL are included.
Open the editable vector PDF in Adobe Illustrator to customise the pattern pieces, adjust proportions and add your own seam allowances and markings. Each size is supplied on a separate layer.
This is a pattern block (sloper). Seam allowances, cutting instructions and step-by-step sewing instructions are not included. Knowledge of Adobe Illustrator, pattern preparation and garment construction is required.

Choose your size using the body measurements in the size chart shown in the product images. Check your measurements rather than relying on your usual ready-to-wear size.

- Projector PDF: a protected file for use with a calibrated sewing projector. This file is not editable.
- Size Chart PDF.
The A4, US Letter and A0 pattern PDFs are unlocked and editable in Adobe Illustrator. They are also ready for printing. After making changes, check the scale and adjust the print layout as needed.
How to Use the Editable File
- Download and save the files to your computer.
- Open Adobe Illustrator on your PC or Mac.
- Go to File → Open and select the editable vector PDF.
- Select the size layer you want to work with.
- Customise the pattern and add your own seam allowances and markings.
- Check the pattern measurements, adjoining seams and scale before preparing your final output.
Adobe Illustrator is required for digital editing and is not included in this purchase. Use the editable vector PDF for pattern modifications; the protected projector PDF is intended for projection only.
Fabric
This block is designed for woven fabrics, not knitted fabrics.
Your fabric choice will influence the finished silhouette. Woven fabrics with more body emphasise the balloon shape, while softer fabrics create a more fluid result. Test your chosen fabric when making a toile.
Calculate fabric and elastic requirements using your selected size, fabric width and final pattern layout. Recalculate these amounts after making design changes.
Projector Use and Printing Your Edited Pattern
- Open the projector PDF in Adobe Acrobat Reader on a desktop computer or laptop.
- Calibrate your projector and verify the scale before tracing or cutting.
- If you prepare a print layout from your edited vector file, print at 100% / Actual Size.
- Check a known measurement or test square before using the printed pattern.
DXF File Available on Request
A DXF version can be prepared on request for use in pattern-making CAD software. DXF is not included in the instant download. Please contact us before purchasing to discuss compatibility, preparation and pricing.
