You own a cape. It's warm, soft and goes along with almost ALL your outfits. You want another one, we get it. However, you can't find it in stores. Don't worry, it's easy to recreate it in another color of fabric, if you want to.
It's a evening hour project. Let's get started:
1. You will need a big surface, like a table or even the floor.
2. Flat lay your pattern paper.
3. On top of it flat lay your cape.
4. Draw around it. If a line seems to be straight but it's sightly curved, correct it. Capes when worn tend to lose their original shape.
5. If you plan on using bias tape you don't need to add seam allowance. Another choice is to add seam allowance, and cut it double and sew it as double face.
6. Write the sewing pattern information on your new pattern. The back that most like ly is on fold, the center front, the shoulder line, whether your pattern includes seam allowance or not.
7. Proceed in cutting.
